Big one: wire up a flash rom chip directly into the DC''s laser board controller port that would contain all the necessary stuff+DCload utility. This could in effect turn any laser/broken DC into a devDC. (relatively) easy mod: externalize the DC PSU. have it in a seperate box as if it were an AC adapter (which it would become) this would leave lots of empty room inside case for modding (internal memory, VGA, etc) Replace a controller port with PS/2 port for keyboard or mouse or instead of replacing it, put a switch and have ports on side. DC in ATX case. With all the appropriate parts you could get an ATX case back filled with all the DC stuff (keybaord/mouse, VGA, serial, BBA, Modem (switch), parallel port (ala nexus card). you could even add an ISA bus just for kicks...
